Condo of the Day: 1 Main Street, #2H

Most of the units we’ve seen at 1 Main Street tend to have a similar look and feel, but this new listing on the second floor has managed to create its own look, in no small part because of a raised portion of the living room and some very modern leanings in the design department. The 2,000-square-foot pad has two bedrooms and two and a half bathrooms and its corner orientation means lots of light and windows. The asking price is $1,850,000, not unreasonable on a per square foot basis for this part of town.

  • That’s a much better layout than one usually gets in a Dumbo loft. Too bad it’s on the second floor.

  • It’s a bit much to be giving props about the design when this place is virtually staged!

  • I suspect the apt is actually pretty dark- lowest floor + buildings across street are quite close. Notice how ceiling lights are on in every pic. Corner apt. but no views (or privacy- you will have to have something blocking light if you want privacy), and reality has proven true to Miller’s axiom there are two markets in Dumbo- the price for apts. w/ views vs those w/out. Though this agent does seem to be acknowledging reality w/ the less than $1000 psf asking price.

2008- for sale for six months. Nothing.
20011- on market for 3 months then a sale?

One 1/2 yrs later for sale again w/ same furniture? If it really sold in 2011, why use old photos in listing? I am suspicious it ever sold.
