The beautifully restored and updated brownstone at 333 MacDonough that was a HOTD and went into contract quickly has closed for $1.34 million, the New York Daily News reported. A bidding war put it $45,000 over ask. The Daily News said the sale set a record for a three-family in Bed Stuy; however, we would like to point out that the absolute record for a price paid for a townhouse in that neighborhood is still held by Barbara Corcoran for her purchase of a five-family limestone at 408 Stuyvesant Avenue for $1.46 million in 2008. However, it looks like that record will soon be bested. The stunning Parfitt Brothers-designed four-family at 254 Gates Avenue with a $2,200,000 ask that was a HOTD only last month is already in contract.
