Because of emergency repairs to the BQE stemming from Hurricane Irene, Furman Street between Atlantic Avenue and Old Fulton Street has been converted into a two-way street; as a result, the bike/pedestrian pathway that runs between Joralemon and Montague streets will be removed for the time being. When we stopped by a few minutes ago, there didn’t appear to be any more traffic than normal. No word on how long the changes will be in effect, but Brooklyn Heights Blog guesses that it could be quite a while based upon the yellow lines that have been painted.
