Closing Bell: Looking Back at Vox Pop

It’s been a year since the Courtelyou Road coffee shop/community space Vox Pop closed, and Ditmas Park Blog has a letter from its former CEO, Debi Ryan, reflecting on the business’s shuttering. Ryan writes that Vox Pop “found a way to pull a community together by being affordable, welcoming and all inclusive” but that she’s still personally on the hook for back taxes that she says her predecessor failed to pay. Ryan also notes that the Vox Pop space is still empty, though she’s “confident that in such a creative community, someone can find a needed and profitable use for it.”
