This news is a week old by now, but we only heard about it over the weekend via a post on the blog A Walk In The Park. According to the blog, the following recorded message was left on the tennis center’s answering machine: “The Prospect Park Tennis Center is currently closed. Both bubbles collapsed due to heavy snow. We are making a concerted effort to remove the snow and re-inflate the bubbles. We plan to be open on Sunday, January 2nd.” Zoinks! UPDATE: We have been informed that the Tennis Center is OPEN again.
It would have made a great slip-and-slide.
I got an e-mail asking me to help clear snow off of the tennis bubble. I couldn’t figure out how the Prospect Park Alliance was going to manage snow removal from a slippery rounded thing but now I guess the bubble had already collapsed.
“concerted effort to remove the snow and re-inflate the bubbles”
Better luck here than with housing. 😉

I ran past there about an hour ago; the bubbles have been re-inflated.
