Lunar New Year at BBG
This Sunday, Brooklyn Botanic Garden hosts its second annual Lunar New Year Celebration and Flower Market, featuring live entertainment, family workshops, fine art, and Asian food. View the garden’s collection of plants native to China, Korea, and Vietnam in Chinese- and English-language guided tours of the Steinhardt Conservatory. Examples of these plants will be available for purchase. Red Silk Dancers, Korean Traditional Music and Dance Institute of New York, and Qi Shu Fang Peking Opera perform. Artist Reception and Tasting at Gnarly Vines
Today, Gnarly Vines hosts a new photography exhibit by Bed-Stuy’s Philippe Dollo entitled “Les Dollo de Dini.” Twenty percent of all proceeds from the sale of these photographs goes directly to the Dollo of Dini. Michael Alan Reception

First Saturday at Brooklyn Museum
Brooklyn Museum presents its Target First Saturday series, featuring music, dance, film, and discussion. Pipa player/vocalist Min Xiao-Fen’s Blue Pipa Trio performs a mix of traditional Chinese music, modern compositions, and interpretations of American jazz; Brooklyn-based slam poet Kelly Zen-Yie Tsai explores identity and urban realities. Pirates of the Aegean Party
On Saturday, Stolen Chair Theatre Company presents a swashbuckling pirate dance party. The Ancient Greece-themed evening will include DJ’s, live swordfights, a Delphic oracle, and more.
