Of course, the final plans have yet to be approved so we shall see. A reader directed us to a rendering here (Projects=>Exteriors=>388 Bridge Street). Waddya think? GMAP P*Shark DOB

barclay tower, and speaking of which, does anyone know if there are plans to illuminate the crown on that puppy? – would look mighty fine up against wtc 7 and new gs hq crowns at night.
I like this building. Downtown needs more rentals as the other poster noted. This building looks very similiar to the rental in Downtown Manahattan that just got built last year. It’s near Broaway and City Hall Park area. Can’ remember the name of it.
Isn’t this the Al Laboz (United Land) project that has been covered in the Post, Voice, Observer, etc.?
ok, but the DOB permit app shows SCLE as architect and the rendering at their site is titled 388 bridge street, so #1 – do you have an alternative design that you could share?
and to answer b-stoner’s question – what i think about this is that i love it.
I concur with the above comment regarding the developer. Googling the phone number for the developer shown on the DOB site gets: Stahl Real Estate at 277 Park Avenue. The following NYT article about the death of the founder in 1999 gives some background:

Excellent. The boro needs more rental units.
That is neither the design nor the developer.
