From the Forum: Is it Legal to Rent Out the Ground Floor of My Brownstone for Short-Term Stays?
Would having a vacation rental in an owner-occupied building be legal?

A reader owns a four-story brownstone and would like have a vacation rental on the ground floor. They live on the premises of their two-family dwelling but have not been able to get a definitive answer as to whether a vacation rental would be legal. City offices have been contacted and they have read up on a recent state bill but are still confused about the legality in New York City.
