Don’t worry dirty hipster, serge becker is not now, nor was he ever an own of La Esquina in Nolita. There are two, count them, only two owners of la esquina, they are Derek Sanders, and James Gersten. Period, end of story. Therefore serge will not now, or not ever be an owner, nor involved in the place in Brooklyn. The shit shows, as you so correctly state, are in fact all his fault. Oliver, a very nice guy, and actual owner of Cafe select, might actually have a fighting chance if not for serge’s involvement. and it was his involvement at miss lily’s that put the nail in the coffin insuring only a limited liquor license and an early closing.
sweet….do i also get to walk through this kitchen to spread some sweet infectious diseases? thats my most favorite thing about esquina, so hip, so cool
I sure hope so Wine Lover – Is Serge Becker going to be involved with this? If so, that doesn’t bode well – everything he is involved with is a effin shitshow.
Haha WBer – yeah, the crowd at SEA definitely isn’t “Williamsburg” – but not nearly as bad as La Esquina (or The Box, Cafe Select or any other crappy La Esquina affiliated place)
ah, the food is really good tho! usually get lunch from there.
i wasn’t even thinking about the vibe of the soho esquina. i’m sure this will get a WB crowd.
GREAT!! I was just saying the other day there wasn’t a place in Williamsburg to hang out with Eurotrash and Jersey B&T meatheads simultaneously. This should do the trick.

The liquor license was approved by CB1 last night.
