Lots of people now seem to want an open kitchen – when I show places with a separate kitchen people always want to know if they can knock the walls down between the kitchen and living room. I guess it’s because so much of at-home entertaining usually winds up with one group hanging out in the kitchen and another in the living room if they’re separate.
All the new condos have that layout because the building code requires that the kitchen have a window or be within so many feet thereof. And all the builders want the max saleable square feet so nothing like the old prewars with courtyards and multiple exposures. So sad…
Yuck !! I think the freaking kitchen mixed in with the Living Room is horrible.
I hate the thought of sitting on my couch watching TV and I can see the refridgerator. Ugly, ugly ugly….
What is so appealing of these 1 giant room with kitchen and liv together….it is really time to change designs already, it is so tired.
I’m not a fan of king-size beds myself, but there are a lot of buyers out there, apparently, who are. Most of them are not from originally from New York. I don’t think I’ve ever lived in a place in my entire life that would hold a king-size bed, but whatever…
This building is really the only option in PS if you want (relatively) affordable high-end mondern (not the utter crap in the south Slope and, unfortunately, across the street here). Gorgeous exterior, nice interiors. Problem: bedrooms are just WAY too small (won’t hold a king-size bed comfortably). Need to buy one of the larger (more expensive) units if you want more than 2 tiny bedrooms. But overall a nice job and good-quality finishes.

I’ve walked by it, and it looks really gorgeous from the outside. Major “curb appeal.”

king sized beds are for frigid sexless people.
