Carmela’s passion for real estate began at the age of 19 while pursuing a degree in economics. Coming from a large family she knew how important it was for every family to own their own home. As a licensed mortgage loan officer she originating loans for 10 plus years at Wall Street Mortgage Bankers. Her knowledge on qualifying her buyers and structuring every transaction to customize their needs is as valuable to her buyers as well as her sellers.

After years of managing her own real estate office with her partners in Brooklyn, she came to the realization that in this growing & changing economy being a small office was no competition for the big companies. Whether it’s buying, selling or renting, Jewel is devoted to guiding her clients in making one of the most important decisions of their life. Jewel has a valuable background in the mortgage industry, as she was a licensed loan consultant who wrote loans and helped many agents make deals happen over the years. Specializing in Manhattan and Brooklyn real estate, Jewel was born in Carroll Gardens, which at that time was known as “South Brooklyn.” She still resides in Brooklyn and studied law at a two-year school in Manhattan where she obtained an AOS degree. Prior to joining Douglas Elliman, Jewel worked independently as a broker, but decided she needed a big company behind her that is well known and respected with a team of experts, and unparalleled resources at her fingertips
