About
Paul Murphy brings a wealth of brokerage, marketing and analytical experience to his work as a townhouse specialist. Committed to his clients’ success, Paul is known for his warmth, work ethic, analytical skills and negotiating savvy. He knows how to listen, how to ask the right questions, and how to get a deal done successfully. Prior to joining Corcoran, Paul put these skills to good use as a commercial real estate broker in Downtown Brooklyn, where he brokered many commercial leases and investment sales. He achieved great results for many customers, including a record-breaking sales price for the owners of a 47,000 square foot hotel development site. Paul’s passion for real estate includes a sideline buying and renovating townhouses. He bought and rebuilt two in Brooklyn, and sold them profitably through The Corcoran Group. He understands what it takes to find a diamond in the rough and transform a wreck into a showplace, even in trying economic times. He also knows how to bring buyers and sellers together, drawing upon a strong network of contractors, architects, engineers, suppliers, and other real estate professionals that he gladly shares with his clients to ensure a seamless deal. Paul got his first brokerage and sales experience in Moscow, Russia, where he helped build a freight forwarding company specialized in providing air and ocean freight services to and from Russia. Following this entrepreneurial endeavor, he acquired an entirely different set of corporate skills at American Express, where he held manager and director-level marketing and product development positions for 10 years. Prior to that, Paul completed an MBA at Columbia Business School, where he was awarded the Bronfman Fellowship, a merit fellowship covering the full cost of tuition and a stipend. He holds a B.A. in Russian Studies and History from Northwestern University, where he graduated with Honors, Distinction, and Phi Beta Kappa. A resident of Brooklyn since 1996, Paul currently lives in Cobble Hill. He is a member of the Brooklyn Real Estate Roundtable, The Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce Real Estate and Development Committee, The Urban Land Institute, and The Real Estate Board of New York.
