Jack Nicholson fans rejoice: A house on the street where As Good As It Gets was shot has just hit the market, and it’s a beauty! 20 Fuller Place has all its original charm intact and has had a thorough updating of all systems along with a makeover of the basement. All in all, a great house. The asking price of $1,425,000 is a little higher than similar houses on this block have gone for in the past, but we think they might just get it.

FWIW: The house is also right across the street from a decent Catholic elementary school, Holy Name (the Hamill brothers got whacked by nuns there back in the day, now it’s a reasonably well-run school with a warm family feeling, dedicated non-clergy teachers and a multicultural student body). My daughter went there and got a good no-frills education for $4K a year without the bureaucracy and hassles of public school (we’re Catholic, but many of the students aren’t; parents choose it for the safety and values, not just the religious aspect). And unlike many RC schools, this one is unlikely to be closed by the diocese in coming budget cuts.

As someone who spent 2 (unfortunate) years on the F at 15th street, it will take you 20 minutes to get to Jay Street…Midtown in 35 minutes? That’s a good day.

as i said, i like this house. but the G train in greenpoint if you’re going to midtown is good. switch to the e,v or 7 in LIC. much faster.
when i worked in chelsea, and lived in PS (mid/north side) it really took me 40 minutes door to door, and my partner then over 50 to get to west side midtown, so i doubt you can get from windsor terrace to midtown in 35.
