466 State Street in Boerum Hill has been listed on the New York Times for over 500 days, and for all we know has been on the market even longer. The three-story building has a few original touches left, but also looks worse for the wear for having been a rental property. It’s fair to say that whether the person who buys this plans to occupy it or develop it that the house will need a pretty major renovation. In light of that (and the fact that no one’s bought the place yet!), the asking price of $1,600,000 seems a tad steep, no?

If you’re referring to the building at State and Nevins, I don’t think that’s a meth clinic but rather some type of group home for developmentally disabled adults. You might be thinking of the Muhlenberg building on Atlatnic itself.
I looked at this years ago. Needs a complete renovation, tenants who wouldn’t leave, all systems need to be replaced.
Not ideal, and at the time, the price was laughably high.
Now the price is just ‘high’ — 1 milllion for a small ugly house with an annoying tenant that you can’t get rid of. The ‘duplex’ plan consisted of a spiral staircase.
Not my cup of tea.
That ad also says “Amazing block!” Do you suppose they mean the methadone clinic?
Smudge2,
I just went to the link you posted.
Very interesting.
Kinda bizarre, actually.
“There is no need to look at it.” Good one!
IME, they’re pretty harmless folks. Walked by them for a decade on my way to the subway, never had a problem. In general, they’re just guys who screwed up and are trying to get it together.
That said, you’d really rather not have to deal with it.
Oh… that’s what that building is… a halfway house/meth clinic. That makes sense.
The evening I walked by, there were some down-and-out men hanging out on the the Flatbush side of it. I’m a large man, but I was a little intimidated by the haggard looks of the men waiting there.
Ah! A horsewalk!
Thanks, Boerumresident.
“THIS PLACE NEEDS TO BE COMPLETELY RENOVATED FROM TOP TO BOTTOM. THERE IS NO NEED TO LOOK AT IT. + The tenant on the top floor will not leave. WHAT DO YOU WANT TO DO???????????DO YOU HAVE THE GUTS TO DEAL WITH THIS????if yes please call!!!!”
