The Rockwell (aka 96 Rockwell Place) has been on the market for awhile now (that’s the understatement of the year). The last time we even mentioned it was back in July of 2008, when the building topped out and they were getting ready for some closings (which we don’t think ever happened). StreetEasy shows they rented out a decent chunk of units, and this month they’ve cut prices pretty significantly on other for-sale units. A $475,000 one-bedroom is now $445,000 and an $845,000 two-bedroom was chopped to $749,000. Think this place’s time has come? GMAP

  1. Went to an “open house” two weekends ago, no sign of a broker anywhere, doors to apartments left open. One of the “studio” units had a room with a single floor-to-ceiling window that did not open (!). Finishes look cheap. But most disconcerting was the lack of a broker; no sign on how to reach him/her. I guess they think the units will sell themselves.
