A lot has happened at The Lineage on Greene Avenue between Classon and Franklin since we last checked in before the townhouses had officially launched. According to Streeteasy, they went on the market in April and received sporadic price cuts and increases until August. The four units that have gone into contract have reflected said price jumps. A one-bedroom that started at $662,640 decreased to $595,900, upped to $599,000, then up again to $610,000 before entering into contract. The other six units on the market (all one and two bedrooms) range from $395,000 to $610,000.

  1. Yes, Fort Greene is within walking distance, but no way is this “Clinton Hill on the border of Fort Green.” As I said, acknowledging the local businesses that have opened in the area witihn the past year, changing it to Bed-Stuy on the border of Clinton Hill would be accurate, as would the rest of the sentence about plenty of quaint eateries…nearby.

  2. I have been one of the harshest critics of this stretching of borders but at least in this case they are within half a block of being accurate. And weirdly, happily and against my own expectations the corner of Greene and Classon has become of a bit of a foodie hang so the “near quaint eateries” part is reasonable. And the fact that Clinton Hill is only 6 or 7 blocks wide east to west means that Fort Greene is in fact easily walkable from this location. So yes its an exaggeration but nothing like what we have been seeing recently.

Puke. Motion sickness. The volatility. Not a healthy/stable market to say the least.

  4. Not only are they calling it Clinton Hill, but almost Fort Greene! Here’s a direct quote from Corcoran’s web site on this project: “Located in Clinton Hill but on the border of Fort Greene gives you the best of both neighborhoods-plenty of quaint eateries, shops and restaurants near by.” The stupid thing is, you could just change that sentence to, “Located in Bedford Stuyvesant but on the border of Clinton Hill,” and the rest would be true, albeit grammatically incorrect. *sigh*

  5. Funny thing is, if you email SE (through the Feedback link at the bottom of their pages) and tell them the building isn’t listed in the correct ‘hood, based on their map. They’ll fix it. And, thank you. This building looks like it’s in BedStuy, because their dividing line is Classon (I don’t know that area of BK, though).
That won’t change what Corcoran says, but at least the SE listing will be accurate.
