Brooklyn Real Estate Six Months Later: Two Sold, Two in Contract

We’re fully in the holiday season, but things don’t change around here: once again we’re going back and taking a look at four of our featured listings from six months ago. This week, we have homes in Clinton Hill, Park Slope, Bed Stuy and Crown Heights.

First up this week, a pair of extraordinarily well-preserved Greek Revival wood-frame houses with lovely original details that are being sold as a set but can also be bought separately. Built circa 1840 according to the designation report, they are the oldest homes in the Clinton Hill Historic District. These former Houses of the Day entered contract in July.

Next up, a three-bedroom co-op in Park Slope that needs some work but is rich with original details and decently sized. The unit has lovely woodwork and some delightful built-ins, not to mention a wood-burning fireplace. While outside the historic district, the home at 361 4th Street is on a quaint, brownstone-lined block. This former Co-op of the Day sold in September for $1.125 million, which was $25,000 above the asking price.

Then, in the Bedford Historic District, we have a brick and brownstone Queen Anne with fabulous cresting on the door hood, bay and roofline, not to mention a pilastered main entrance. In addition to the gorgeous period details, there are also a number of tasteful modern updates in both the owners triplex and two-bedroom garden rental. This former House of the Day entered contract in October.

We’re wrapping it up this week with a three-story, two-family Renaissance Revival limestone in the Crown Heights North Historic District that has bay windows and a bluestone garden. Original details appear to be limited to tin ceilings and a single stunning stained-glass skylight surrounded by wood paneling. Both units feature eat-in kitchens; no bathrooms are pictured. This former Open House Pick sold in August for $1.82 million, which was $125,000 above the asking price.
