This no-fee floor-through rental in the Prospect Heights Historic District is charming and has a number of original details, including two decorative mantels, ceiling medallions and parquet floors. Located at 381 Sterling Place, it’s on the top floor of a three-story circa 1901 limestone that was designed by prolific 19th and early 20th century Brooklyn architect Benjamin Driesler.

It’s listed as a two-bedroom walkup, with each room on opposite ends of the apartment. But the layout looks more like a one-plus bedroom more appropriate for a single occupant or couple rather than roommates.

It’s not clear if there’s a separate entrance from the hall to the bathroom, so you might have to walk through one of the bedrooms to access it.

The second bedroom is petite, with room for a twin bed. Located off the living room, with a glass-paned door, it could also serve as office space or storage.

The living room has bay windows, moldings and one of the aforementioned mantels, both of which are wood with tile surrounds and hearths. Like most of the rooms in the unit, this one has parquet floors with elaborate inlaid borders.

Between the living room and the back bedroom, there’s a pass-through with built-in drawers, shelves and clothes rods. The other mantel can be found in the bedroom.

This is also where you’ll find the bathroom, in the rear at the side. It appears spacious with a standalone tub and black and white floor tile. According to the listing, the galley kitchen, which is off the living room, has new appliances. And, from what we can see, although it’s compact, there is plenty of counter and cabinet space and a skylight.

The apartment is 2.5 blocks from Grand Army Plaza, or “just about far enough from and close enough to the bustling Park Slope,” according to the listing. Which means that, no matter how you feel about said neighborhood, you are at just the right distance from it.

Kayla Ega, Iman Zahrieh and Linda Virtue from Ideal Properties Group have the listing, which is asking $3,300 a month and no broker’s fee. Is it worth it?
