A roomy three-bedroom rental in a corner building at 5th Street and 7th Avenue in Park Slope comes with a washer/dryer, dishwasher and an elaborate eat-in kitchen, along with attractive original details. The walkup apartment is one of three co-op units with a shared roof deck in a circa 1890s four-story mixed-use building at 474 5th Street.

An old listing for another unit in the building claims 1,400 square feet, so this could be similarly generous in proportion. There are 1.5 bathrooms, and all bedrooms will fit a king-size bed.

It’s probably on the third floor, although the listing doesn’t specify. It has windows on three sides, and most of the rooms overlook 5th Street, while the large front room faces busy 7th Avenue. Hopefully the “dual pane windows” mentioned in the listing will block out street noise.

Original details include a wood mantel with green tile surround and built-in china cabinet in the unit’s dining room, now in use as a living room. The large front room, originally meant to be the parlor, now a bedroom, has a pier mirror. The unit’s floors are the original Douglas fir, according to the listing.

A long hallway has five bookcases at one end, and there are three closets altogether.

The eat-in kitchen is luxurious by rental standards, with tons of cabinet storage space, extensive stone counters, a Bosch dishwasher and Fisher and Paykal French-door fridge. The backsplash is brown mosaic tile and the floors are tan tile. The bathrooms are similarly outfitted with tan tile, white fixtures and built-in storage.

One drawback: The listing notes that heat and hot water is not included, making the monthly cost–already not cheap at $4,800 or $1,600 split evenly between three bedrooms–even more expensive.
