Gothamist reports that the private security workers (not TSA employees) at JFK Airport have decided not to strike in time for the holidays, as they had once threatened to do. Prince Jackson, a security officer for Air Serv (one of the companies that manages the security workers) said, “Both Air Serv and Global Elite have agreed to meet. So [Wednesday night] we [called] off the strike for now and look forward to discussing our concerns with the contractors.” We’re pretty sure that chaos would erupt if they had decided to strike.

In the words of the Gothamist folks, “the strike may be off, but the fight continues.” These non-unionized workers would like to work for better pay, training, and equipment. Good luck to all flying out this holiday.
