Now we can add Storybox to LIC’s growing tech scene. DNAinfo reported on this startup that made it to the finals of Seedcamp New York, “an initiative that provides startups with funds, mentorship and office space.” They’ve also lassoed themselves some big deal investors, including the head of Google India, Rajan Anandan.

This new web application – a visual social network – allows users to tell a story with photos, creating a collage of images (16 maximum) from various sources. In the words of founder Angie Min, “This way [people] can tell a story. We want it to be like a daily scrapbook page, which would be both personal and aspirational.” They’ve found that users engage with the application as both a means of creative expression and as a documenting device.

Folks can share with fellow users within the system, or share with Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, and/or Google+; embed code is also available for collages.Currently the site has about 1,000 users.

Storybox seems to have settled quite comfortably into LIC – and check it out, they’ve even gone bowling with the Songza folks, their fellow startup neighbors in LIC.
