Closing Bell: Downtown Brooklyn Wins Popularity Contest

Downtown Brooklyn beat out the Financial District to take home the 2011 Curbed Cup. Unlike the Manhattan neighborhood it beat out, Downtown wasn’t home to the first iteration of the most influential protest movement in the United States last year, or one of the most praised new skyscrapers in recent years, so the Shake Shack opening must have been the clincher.
