Close Call on Gold Street
The owner of this SUV caught a lucky break yesterday when the high winds toppled this tree on Gold Street, narrowly missing the parked car. Anyone notice any tree damage anywhere else?

It looks like a Callery pear tree. They are known to be susceptible to breakage (from wind or ice) because of the way they branch. NYC Parks planted many as street rees but I think they have backed off recently.
A few down in Coffey Park. One big one crashed down on some benches and totally crushed them – lucky no one was sitting on them!
Prospect Park was crazy yesterday late afternoon! We were biking in there and saw a couple very big branches come down (not on the main road/path, thankfully–although the crosswinds were treacherous on a carbon bike!)…
meh, its a Ram, woulda done the person a favor in the long run.
Definitely lots of branches and even a few tree limbs down in GAP.

haha nice!
There was also a tree down on N7th btw Bedford and Berry this morning. Luckily it just missed the ’88 volvo station wagon parked on the street.
I walked by this yesterday and thought how lucky that guy was.
