We intend to put a peninsula out from one wall with an overhang &#038; bar stools along one side.  My question is &#8211; how much overhang is normal\/good?  If we have standard 24&#8243; deep cabinets accessed from one side, is a 12&#8243; overhang the right amount going out from the back where the stools are?  Is more necessary or is this sufficient?  We don&#8217;t have a lot of flexibility but i don&#8217;t want to end up with something stupid.<\/p>\n<p>Also, is the standard bench height (using IKEA base cabinets approx 30&#8243;) ok?
