So, I’m at the point of the renovation where I need to buy all my kitchen appliances, and I’m in the process of picking out the vent hood. Yesterday I spent about an hour at Futuro Futuro’s showroom looking for a suitable hood. I found the \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Concorde\u00e2\u20ac\u009d design which I’m in love with (link below), but I have a dilemma.<\/p>\n
My problem is that the company recommended that you install the hood about 26\u00e2\u20ac\u009d-30\u00e2\u20ac\u009d above the cook top, but I’m 5′ 11\u00e2\u20ac\u009d so I imagine it being very uncomfortable to cook with a hood in your line of sight. I asked if I could have the hood at 34\u00e2\u20ac\u009d – 36\u00e2\u20ac\u009d above the counter, but the hood guys said that it will make a big difference in suction.<\/p>\n
How should I approach this problem? Should I disregard the recommendations by the manufacturer and install it 34\u00e2\u20ac\u009d-36\u00e2\u20ac\u009d above the stove (and risk losing suction), or should I lift part of the counter with the cooktop by a few inches?
