Under the 1938 code for a Class 3 Non Fireproof Construction, is there a fire rating for floors, ceilings or roofs of a fully sprinklered single family townhouse above 4 stories? I know that exterior walls and the ground floor above a cellar space must be 3 hours. My floor build up is generally 3\/4″ plywood subfloor, old existing joists, new LVLs and new steel beams for my floor structure with a hung (black iron, 7\/8″ channels) single 5\/8″ layer of gyp board for my ceiling. There will be batt insulation for an acoustical barrier at the floors as well. The roof is of similar construction, but it will be filled with 4″ of icynene for insulation. If there is a 1 hr requirement, is spraying the steel beams enough? I am having difficulty finding an equivalent in the UL book.<\/p>\n
