But then it wouldn&#8217;t shut off.  Period. I was thinking I had air in the pipes and that was what caused the noise &#8212; but I don&#8217;t understand why the water won&#8217;t shut off (I had to turn off the main switch).  Any ideas?  I was thinking of just letting it run for a while, but don&#8217;t know if that will do anything or if I need a plumber.
