To do this, holes have to be punched through the building (they aren&#8217;t already there).  Do I need a building permit for this?  I&#8217;ve tried contacting the NY Buidlings department but haven&#8217;t had much luck getting to talk to someone knowledgable.<\/p>\n<p>Our building is isn&#8217;t in a landmarked area.
