Quick question. We had a central air system installed in our attached townhouse. The steel beam on which the unit rests is placed on the parapet walls. One of our neighbours says that half of the parapet wall is his (i.e., if the width of the wall is 8inches, then 4 is his and 4 is ours). He says that the beam takes up all of 8 inches (it doesn’t hang over) and that he doesn’t have a problem but if he sells the house, purchasers may have a problem.
\nMy contractor is telling me that the parapet wall is common and that is not shareable 50-50. In other words, it belongs to both of us and that it is standard to have unit installed like that. Anybody know what the right answer is? Many thanks!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
