He clearly did not know what he was doing because he went through 8 gallons of stain for a 650 sq ft deck and now, over 30 hrs later, the stain remains sticky and much much darker than the patch test we did ourself because he globbed on layer after layer with a sprayer.   The stain is supposed to be semi-transparent redwood and the deck looks solid, deep red\/ brown.<br \/>\nDoes anyone know of a way to remove some layers of the stain without having to re-strip the whole job and start over? would a power washing help? if so, should we wait a few days to see if it dries more or do it while it is still sticky?<br \/>\nthanks!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We hired a general &#8220;handy man&#8221; to waterproof and stain our roof deck this week.
