I&#8217;ve been told to just hack it up into pieces and throw it out.  I&#8217;m very hesitant to throw something so old out (esp. since the previous owners threw out some nice original details in our house &#8212; which I&#8217;m sure they thought was junk).   Should I hire some people to just move it into our cellar &#8212; it&#8217;s pretty rusty in spots but otherwise intact &#8212; so that future owners can try to restore it.
