Hello – I need help with the repair of a front loading Frigidaire washing machine. It does not properly rinse and spin. Can anyone give a recommendation for a reasonable repairman? I was hoping to use either Pete from Father & Son or Bank Repair. Pete hasn’t been able to return my calls (I think he may have been sick) and Mr. Bank doesn’t do front loaders (although he was very polite on the phone).

Anyone else???

  1. As a tree-hugger, I like to avoid creating trash, but unfortunately it seems it’s rarely worth getting a repair of a typical appliance. It costs a couple hundred bucks, if you’re lucky, and a replacement will cost about 400.

  2. Does it make loud clunky sounds? If so it may be the ‘spider’ failure that’s common in American front loaders (Google it) and cannot be fixed (expensive parts and takes 4-5 hrs labor). Mine was 6 years old and I had to junk it. Bought a Bosch.
