I am planning on restoring the railing on my stoop. I have been searching for these railing panels for a few years now. I’m pretty sure I’ve tried everywhere. I’d like to use this particular pattern because it matches my existing fence and other houses in the neighborhood. I’m hoping by posting this someone with this panel in their cellar as a spare from a previous renovation or knows someone that has stashed a few away will contact me. Also if you restored your stoop with this pattern, who did it? Maybe they have access to more copies. Thanks for your help.
Demolition Depot – No gots.
NY Old Iron (Lowes guy) – he’s where I got the one original I have. I have him looking for more.
Julius Blum – No gots.
Julius blumberg in jersey has hundreds of replica iron work panels finials, etc theyre pretty cheap and many will last forever because some castings contain…?oldtimers disease. any way check what rods you need [welding rods] i had to braze mine cause it had alumina silica i think, any way theyre still there 20 years later. CONTAIN ALLOYS! one for the gipper.most other parts sub rails rail caps bar stock any steel, yard carries.
Check the iron guy below the f train by lowe’s parking lot. he has lots of bits and pieces.
Thanks Minard.
if you wind up casting replicas, post back to let us know who you used, and how it turned out. our railing was replaced long ago, but it was originally that same pattern, or something close to it!
HDL: call Star Metal. They are nearby. 718-384-2766
I can get my hands on one original. Do you know of someone that does casting? The company I contacted requires a $1200 set up charge, then more $ per piece.
Have u tried the salvage depot on 125th street harlem they carry lots of vintage iems
Good luck
You can always get replicas recast from the original. Its not that expensive.
