When to call the roofer?
Hi- We should be closing on a townhouse in Ditmas Park in a month. It needs a new roof. When would you suggest calling roofers for estimates/interviews? The house needs a ton of work and we want to start right after closing. Thanks!

20 x 50 roof will be about $6,500-7,500 for a new layer of high quality Firestone reflective. Prices are going up fast due to crude spike.

I was in the same position and I found it helpful to look into some of these estimates before closing. This way I already knew what I wanted to do when I did close and I was able to start in on projects right away. Also, it was a nice distraction from the aggravating process of dealing with the bank and the endless hurdles of financing.

Best time to do a new roof is either Spring or Fall – when it is not too hot and not too cold. I’ve never used him but Leakmaster gets tons of recos on this board – try calling him.
