I’ve developed some roof leaks after all this crummy weather. When the weather is warmer I’ll bring in a professional, but what should I use as a temporary patch? is my only option that black gooey stuff? Everything else I’ve looked at calls for temperatures over 50 degres F.

  1. A lot of roofs leak when the snow gets high and touches spots on the roof that water normally wouldn’t. First step is to remove the snow. Doesn’t fix the leak but it does stop it this time until you get a chance to fix it.

  2. use that black gooey stuff – I think it is Karnack 19. It says it sets up under water. you will want some fibre mesh with that. I did a repair on my roof two or so years ago with the Karnack and fibre drywall tape and it is holding fine.
