Quality Furniture at a Reasonable Price?

My wife and I are looking to pick up a few pieces of quality furniture at a reasonable price, more specifically, a media unit with bookshelves and place for a TV (price range: $2000 to $4000). We thought about built-in’s but those would usually be at least twice that. We are stumped though as for a piece that will be a huge focus in our main room we want to get something better than IKEA quality…and Macy’s stuff looks like out of a hotel, Pottery Barn is hit and miss (considering the storage bed), ABC Carpet is overpriced, and West Elm looks a bit junky for the price. There are two reasonable, straight up the middle options at Restoration Hardware for a media unit, but we wanted to look at other options but don’t know where to look. Does anyone have any gems of a store in the five boroughs that we should consider? We don’t mind modern but are going more for a classic look. Bonus points for stores quality at reasonable price bed frames and dressers.
I’m gonna second that Room and Board recommendation. We have a few of their pieces and they’re really nice; solid wood with no veneers and dovetailed plywood drawer boxes.
I like some of DWR’s stuff- mainly their licensed repros – but the majority of their furniture is absolute garbage and just a hair above Ikea quality.
Room and Board is really nice for the money. Not cheap but quality everything. I have a bunch of their pieces.
Does Work Bench still exist? They used to have some nice stuff.
Thanks for the suggestions. I like Design within Reach and have been to one of their showrooms but assumed that they were a more expensive price point. I’ll take a look at Ethan Allen and Room and Board, probably the closest to my price range. I haven’t heard of Bessie’s picks and will check them out. I’m doubtful on longer term quality for Crate & Barrel but will be sure to visit one more time.
yes, crate and barrel. I think they also have a huge showroom on the second floor of their broadway/houston st store.
You could also try the Thomasville website and that of Z Gallerie and Mitchell Gold/Bob Williams.

Door Store will have some decent bed options…also Crate & Barrell believe it or not…big showroom on 2nd floor around 59th street
