We are moving into a new condo and our only option is a ventless/condenser dryer. The brands we are seeing are Bosch, Miele, LG, and GE. Can anyone recommend a brand/model and explain why you chose one over another? We’ve found extremely limited reviews on any of these. We are not interested in combo washer/dryers nor do we want to use the lint contraption for a vented dryer. Also, must you buy the same brand washer in order for it to stack properly in a closet?

  1. Thanks bohuma, we are leaning towards the Bosch. Did you look at any others or did the Bosch come with your unit? There are the LG and GE models out there that are cheaper.

  2. We have had Bosch stacking washer/non-venting dryer for two years and are very happy with it. Make sure you buy it from somewhere that knows how to install it properly – our were installed by Sears and they missed putting the water discharge pipe for the dryer into the drain, we had some water issues until one of our neighbors advised us. I recommend that whatever model you buy, go on line, download the manuals and familiarize yourself with the installation requirements and make sure the installers do everything they’re supposed to.

  3. I have Bosch units and find them to be fine. yes, they take a bit longer for drying but I don’t need to do multiples loads a week.

  4. About 5 years ago we retrofitted a number of high rise apartment building with w/d. We bought one of every type of non-venting unit on the market and tested each one. Back then Bosch was the best. 5 years is a long time for technology but I have had a number of clients install them over the years and no one has complained (understanding that non-vented is no match for vented).
