The metal part under the top of the chair broke off from the stand. I’m thinking it should be able to be fixed by someone who is good with a soldering iron.
Thanks in advance for any recommendations you may have.
BoD, good eye! The tables I posted about last week were also from CB2. Clearly Mrs C is a fan. Personally I can’t stand these ones as the screws constantly are coming out from the seat, making it wobbly.
Thanks to all above for the advice.
This is the CB2 Alchemy stool…discontinued. Call them up and ask for replacement hardware information. Otherwise, yes this is a tack weld job. Vinny’s a grouch with this kind of stuff, but go for it!
The ironworker to which my ewife refers is the famous Vinnie’s on Bergen, between Smith and Court.
I will also ask my usual “source” for you of all information home-repair-related.
Arkady is right about that, biff. Try finding a replacement part. But if not, try the ironworker in Cobble Hill. I don’t have the name but I think he is on Bergen. Check with cobble.
DIBS, that’s what happens when I start assuming more of the housekeeping responsibilities.
Why do you keep breaking so many things? Last week it was the tabletop and now this.
Biffy – I’d go online to the mfr to see if you can replace the entire part that screws on. There’s an awful lot of torque for a soldered joint to hold.
