I have an ugly enclosed radiator that is blocking a window, and I am looking for a cast-iron exposed one, the old fashioned kind, to put on the wall next to the window instead. Plumbing will be simple I’m told, but the size is a little unusual – It needs to be no wider (left to right) than about 19″ and because of that I think it’d be best if it were a tallish one – it’s a studio apartment and this is the only heat source. Thanks! Marla

  1. Awesome! Thank you both –

VHR, would it be possible to send me a picture? And are you sure it is for a steam system, and not hot water?

    Thanks –

  2. I have two, one short and fat, one tall and thin. The tall one is:
    about 14″ wide
    about 36″ high
    about 9″ deep
    5 columns

$50. You can pick it up from my backyard in Clinton Hill. Let me know…lswinston at gmail

  3. go to 525 park ave – they sell used radiators and have a garage full of them, all different sizes that have been tested and work.

I just picked one up from them – as a result of a recommendation here
