Letter of No Objection
Has anyone had to get a Letter of No Objection (for C of O) from the Dept of Buildings? How long did it take you? Did you need an expeditor? Thank you!

you can get it by yourself. in general it takes about 2-3 up to 4 weeks.
We did it recently a month or so agao for a 2 family. It took about two weeks once we gave them what they were looking for. It allowed us to file an Alt II instead of the Alt I DOB wanted.
What Jock said. Timing/granting depends on the specifics (which Jock also said). Try calling brooklynexpediter, who often posts here.
We got LNO in 1986. We also needed it because the two family house we wanted to purchase was without a CofO (built in the 1840s) but was listed as a one-family in DOB records. IIRC it only took about a week or two, but then again that was 25 years ago. We did not use an expediter just made the request in writing.
We need it for the purchase of a 2 family house, it’s actually the seller that is doing it and it’s holding things up. I am curious as to how long it usually takes.
What do you need the LNO for? You can do it yourself, but be prepared to provide all of the infomation they are going to ask for.
