I recently removed a stall shower in a guest bathroom and installed a tub with faucets and overhead shower controlled by single swivel device. It looked fine – I even posted a favorable review of the plumber – until actually tried it. The device that controlled hot and cold water for the shower worked backwards. Hot water on top, cold water on the bottom. Finally got the plumber to return (not easy)he adjusted something inside the shower control and said it was fixed. That lasted for a few days – something must have slipped, now hot water is in the middle of the dial, cold on either side, plumber refuses to come back again. Anyone think they can fix this so it works properly?

  1. What is the brand of the shower valve? Some brands allow you to turn the cartridge around to switch the hot/cold.

It sounds like the handle just slipped though. This is very easy fix.

  2. 3. sorry – I’m as bad as the plumber, I meant that the hot water was on the bottom. People would turn the handle all the way up, wait for the water to get warm, and wait and wait. Now I have instructions posted to alert them that hottest water is in the middle, adjust before getting in
