I hate throwing away things that might have some life left in them, but maybe this one is truly done for. It’s an Andersen double-paned 4’x6′ casement window. We removed it because the wood framing was rotten and one pane on one side was broken. So is there any possible way anyone would have a use for this? The double-paned glass on one side of the window is totally fine and on the other side one of the two panes is broken but the other one is fine.
Obviously just want to give it away to anyone who could salvage it… maybe for the glass?
Or maybe its truly trash. Advice appreciated.
do you have a garden or a yard? We had an old window that I was going to throw out, but my neighbor wanted it to build a cold box out of (like a mini-greenhouse where she can start her veggies). It turned out really well.
Someone might want to use it for some sort of art project?
Try craigslist or my favorite salvage place, Build It Green NYC – http://www.bignyc.org. You might want to call them to find out if it’s something they’d take.
