Hey everybody, tenants of Gary and Monicas place on 17th st in Park Slope here, just found out due to the 5th avenue Inferno our place is going to need about 6 months of renovations. So there is 4 of us on the lookout for any type of temporary residence so if any one knows or hears of anything we’d sure appreciate it!

Joshi is right; there was a fire in an apt building in our neighborhood last year and Red Cross got involved and the tenants were placed elsewhere. However, you won’t get to choose which borough or neighborhood you go to.
I wonder if you can put up at a Y until you can solve the problem. Feel awful for you.
I’d also scour craigslist for an immediate, furnished sublet situation. There are usually lots of listings. Sorry for your devistating loss.
It’s not the solution you’re looking for, but call the Red Cross if you haven’t already been in touch with them. They have programs to assist with temporary housing when dealing with tragedies like yours.
Don’t know of anything but will post back if I find out. Hope you are all doing OK.
