Venting Boiler Room
Hi, We want to put a vent into our boiler room of our brick house to keep the air circulating. Who would I call to have this done, contractor? Mason? And what should I expect to pay? Thanks again for your advice. This forum is a godsend to first time homeowners like myself. Cheers.
Hi,
We want to put a vent into our boiler room of our brick house to keep the air circulating.
Who would I call to have this done, contractor? Mason? And what should I expect to pay?

No specific vendor to recommend, but what was the original impetus?
Multifamily requires fresh air supply of certain inches square, and on an efficiency level, there is every reason to draw in outside air to pump up the flue.
There is negative air pressure due to boiler draft, and it will attempt to suck air from wherever provides the least resistance.
If this is air that you have paid to heat, it is sending your $$ up the flue. (outside air will be drawn in any window, door or wall openings)
However if there is an open path to the outside, you only need an iron shop to fabricate the outside grill, often cut and welded into a hatch cover, if you have one?
I am only suggesting that duct work may not be necessary unless you need to draw outside air through heated space to get to your boiler enclosure.
Call A&A Fireplace and Chimney. He’ll do both the ductwork and masonry.
