Demolition
How much should a bathroom demolition cost? It is a tiny bathroom 6 x 6 foot and it is on a street level brownstone. I already sold the bathtub. Is $1400 a good price from a contractor?

Call Jose at Dun-Rite Rubbish. He’s licensed for both demo and debris hauling. And very reasonable.

Make sure that the price includes (proper) disposal. It may sound crazy but in larger projects the demo work and the carting away of the debris are separate line items. You might also inquire (or state expectations) about protection of floors and surrounding areas and cleanup.
Sorry – I see that $1400 includes the actual demolishing. If that’s the case, you could still pay less. Seems to me you could hire a couple of guys for less than $150/day to get it done in two days max. Rent the 10 yard container and you’re under $1k.
But if you want the contractor to hire the guys, deal with the container company, and basically take care of everything from start to finish, $1400 isn’t bad.

Are you taking it back to the studs and joists? Assuming yes, this still seems a little high to me, but I’m a DIYer.
you can rent a 10 yard container from Bestway for $513. You might have 20 yards worth, but even that will be less than $1400. They will apply for the permit for you, drop off the container and pick it up. You have 5 days to fill it and have it removed, and then you have to pay $30 for a new permit (you can leave the container). That five-day thing is new.
