brownstone waterproofing
Help. I need to waterproof the side wall of my brownstone and repoint some bricks. Also need to dig into the foundation and add a plastic liner to waterproof the garden level. I have contacted people recommended on brownstoner…seems they will not give a guarantee? based on the cost of this job that does not…
Help. I need to waterproof the side wall of my brownstone and repoint some bricks. Also need to dig into the foundation and add a plastic liner to waterproof the garden level. I have contacted people recommended on brownstoner…seems they will not give a guarantee? based on the cost of this job that does not seem right. Any more recommendations? Also, is lime used to repoint? And is one coat of thoroseal enough?

Abedin is at my house right now working on a small job, but we had him seal our side wall with Thorocoat last fall. He did a very nice, clean job which was important since our building neighbors a community garden. He does all types of brick and masonry work.
There are some mortar comes premixed with lime. I don’t think you’d need to add any additional lime. I recommend you apply thorocoat not thoro seal ..attest 2 times. And this would cover the side wall sealed better. If you want a guranteed job done. Give a call to my contractor at 718-666-7679. You’ll be satisfied .
