Go with a licensed broker in a storefront in your neighborhood — or do it yourself. If I were to use a broker, I would ask to see all the financial documentation. In my experience, brokers aren’t as careful as landlords.
scott charges (the tenant) less than other brokers, I think that’s why he rents them so fast… works better for him too, he makes his money and moves on.
you can try Scott Morrow, he’s on 8th ave/14th street, does a lot of south slope rentals and is very attentive and good at his job.
He’s also got a knack for getting you great rents… for instance I know he rented an apartment in 3 days for a landlord and got $2900/months… same apartment that corcoran could not rent for $2300 after a month of trying.

Is there much of a broker-oriented rental market in Sunset Park at all? Seems like it’s a renter’s market period down here, and whenever I’ve looked on craigslist there are some mighty nice places, for no fee and very reasonable rents.
