Midium Rubbish Removal Container
We need to get small containers like the one on the picture and I have seen all over Brooklyn and Manhattan. Do you have any recommendation? We are on a budget. It would be great if instead of calling to all the Rubbish Removal companies we could get some advise from anybody.

I called a bunch and Filco was the most reasonably priced for a 28-foot long container. They were prompt and reliable and picked up immediately the next day as requested. They were also great at parking the thing. They were a delight to work with.
We used some day laborer friends of our contractor to do the loading. If memory serves, we paid $400 to the three guys for two or three hours work and $350 for the container. They knew just what to do and tied up the container so nobody could dump trash in it.
We purchased a big blue tarp and rope at a building supply down the street and saved two parking spaces in advance.
It was fun!
Amanda is out of business. Her regular clients were taken over by STALLION RECYCLING CORP 718-982-5582, a family business with only a few trucks. Roberta usually answers the phone. Tell her what type of debris you have, when you need the container, when you need it picked up. Timing is not always precise, but keep calling and understand it takes time to move a big truck safely through our crowded streets.
If you are rolling full containers long distances over bumpy surfaces, ask them to check the wheels before delivery. Driver and son Eddie, takes good care of my company. Take care of Eddie. He needs to back his truck up to full containers without somebody else parking or dumping something in the way or on top. Obviously, keep your empties away from opportunists.
This is a 1/2 yard container, the smallest. As with anything, the larger the volume the cheaper, but it is easier to fill and roll 1/2 yard containers through small doorways. Carting companies also pick up debris which you bundle or bag, move to the curb, and load.
Thanks for doing this the right way. A lot of debris is illegally dumped, including on our streets especially in poor or commercial areas. Often lead and other toxins get in to our soil this way and washe in to our rivers. When you hire a licensed Home Improvement Contractor or Licensed Carting Service you hire someone who agrees to follow the law.
Alta Recycling, 718-979-8788, is good and reliable charged me about $26 each last year depending on how many and how heavy.
They will also charge by the fractional truck load without the mini containers.
I used them for a small kitchen reno. It was fairly cheap. $35/each if i remmeber correctly and $50/each for tile/cement. I used Amanda carting out of Red Hook. they are good people
Thanks, Denton.
I am not just looking for a phone number, I am looking for someone’s opinion. That’s what the Forum is about. Isn’t it?
