I am making dream laundry room (finally!!) now. Outlet has to be added for each washer and dryer. Electrical box is quite far 30 feet away.
How much is it approximately and do you have electricians to recommend? thank you!
And it is very hard to own a house without brownstoner! Thank you for BROWNSTONER!!

  2. My dryer is gas and machine is LG front loader. Not necessary to install dedicated outlet for gas dryer? Please tell me how much it would be. Thank you!

  3. I just went through adding the electrical outlets and plumbing needed to put laundry room in my basement. I can’t emphasize enough how important it is to pick out your machines BEFORE you hire any professionals to do anything to insure that the machines will work given any limitations (such as a place to vent the dryer, the size of the opening to the basement, etc.) and so that the electrician and plumber can do their job in the way that it needs to be done for your particular machines.

  4. Thanks for the posting.

You do not need a dedicated outlet for the washer and dryer if the dryer is gas. If it is electric then you will obviously need 220v. 220v would be dedicated either way. Worst case scenario you can run an extension cord if its a 110 washer/dryer.
Have you picked out what machines you are looking for?
Yes I do sell washers/dryers at unbeatable prices. Do you have a gas line there? Is there a window there for a vent? Don’t be confused -even electric dryers need to be vented.

Call me if you have questions or want to price some units out

  5. Is the dryer electric or gas? If it’s electric you’re going to have to run 220v from the box plus another 20 Amp for the washer.

Chances are that outlet that’s 30′ away isn’t going to be enough (15 or 20 Amp with other outlets on the same circuit already) to run whe W/D off of and you have to run the 2 lines from the box anyway.

What floor are you on and what floor is the breaker box on???
