Tin Ceiling Dent?
I consider myself one of the fortunate ones to still have tin ceilings going up my staircases. Upon trying to maneuver a piece of furniture up the narrow and low staircase I caused a deep dent in a tin tile. Does anyone have a remedy for this?

Thanks Rick!
I’ve installed many tin ceilings for clients over the years. The thin tin is not very forgiving. You really can’t pull a dent out and make it look nice. If you try, you will make the situation worst. It’s better to simply make a patch. Lucky for you that your pattern is still available. Check http://www.tinsmith.com/. Cut a large enough patch so it overlaps your dent. Cut on the outside of the grid and glue it in place with liquid nails. Tape the edges down nice and tight and let it dry overnight. Once dry, remove the tape, prime, caulk and paint. Good luck!
